The answer, for me, is yes!
The sound is visceral
Obviously, not everyone cares about sound. That said, this thing breaks necks on startup! It has a slight rumble that almost resembles a bumbling V8. Under load you get a symphony of cylinders, and when off the throttle it’s basically as quiet as stock.
Installing an ECS Tuning Resonator Delete on a 2019 VW Atlas 3.6L VR6
Removing the resonator and replacing it with the ECS Tuning VW Atlas VR6 Resonator Delete aka “Wookie Pipe” is actually very easy. The pipe came with two clamps, so no welding is needed. You will need a way to cut the exhaust pipe, but there’s a lot of ways to do that.
What does a resonator delete do to the Atlas VR6?
The resonator is heavy and hides the exotic VR6 sound! The VW VR6 engine has had a cult following since it came out back in the late 90’s.
When the VR6 came out, it was an engineering marvel. The VR6 managed to squeeze 6 cylinders underneath a single cylinder head and valve cover (vs 2) which makes it cheaper to produce, service and small enough to fit inside smaller cars like the Golf/GTI.
