How do you prep your car for the winter?
Here are some winter mods & maintenance for our Jetta.
The Trico ICE Extreme Weather wipers are a first for me, so I’ll post an updated review once I’ve had some time with them in the snow.
Ended up finding a set of wheels and used Blizzaks with a season left on them. Tested them with a tire tread meter to confirm, (fronts were 6/32nds and rear was 5/32nds) Half-life for tire wear is typically around 6/32nds, so I was fine running them for just one winter (at least for now).
The brake kit from FCP Euro makes shopping for parts so much easier. Instead of spending the time comparing pricing from different retailers to try to piece together my own set, where the additional shipping basically negated the savings. The price is right, including the lifetime warranty, to just get it from them. Trust me, I’ve tried, but the ability to swap out warped rotors is really appealing to me.
